The main production areas for denim apparel in China are concentrated in the Pearl River Delta, Yangtze River Delta, and Shandong Peninsula. 

These regions are also the most economically vibrant and have the most developed and mature textile and garment industries in the country.

Some of the more famous denim industry belts include the Foshan Nanhai Pingdi International Denim City, Xintang Town in Guangzhou Zengcheng (where the world looks to China for denim, and China looks to Xintang), Dayong Town and Shaxi Town in Zhongshan, Jun’an Town in Foshan Shunde, Kaiping Sanbu, as well as Changzhou in Jiangsu, Zibo in Shandong, and Lanxi in Zhejiang (mainly for denim fabric).

Among the well-known large denim factories in China, some only produce denim fabric, such as Hong Kong’s Mao Feng, Guangdong’s Qianjin, and Lanxi’s Jinshuo. Others produce both fabric and garments, such as Black Peony, Blue Goose, and Beijiang. There are also some that only make garments and do not deal with fabric, such as Jiudi, Jingyuan’s Xinye, etc.
