That morning, I had just arrived at the office. The phone rang and I answered it. The caller was introduced by someone and wanted to purchase denim fabric. They happened to be nearby that day. We agreed on a time to meet.
At one o’clock in the afternoon, the customer arrived as scheduled. We learned about the pattern they processed, which helped us better recommend suitable denim fabric for them.
After looking at the fabric sample, the customer tried the machine and was very satisfied. Then came the price negotiation. Considering that they were a nearby customer and also introduced by an acquaintance, I quoted the lowest price directly.
But the customer didn’t seem to appreciate my sincerity and said that another fabric shop was cheaper than mine by 2-3 yuan per meter. Hearing the customer’s words, I explained the advantages of my company’s products to the customer again, but I didn’t lower the price any further. The customer said they would look around and left with regret.
I was always confident that no other fabric shop around had a better cost performance than ours, and I believed that the customer would come back after looking around. Sure enough, on the third day at five o’clock, our phone rang again. The customer said that after comparing around, they found that the effect of your washing was better, and the price was not high.
Tomorrow, please send me three thousand meters. Make the invoice, I’ll transfer the money to you, okay? I said: Of course. We happily finalized the deal.
In such a fierce price competition, we once again won an order with quality.
I can especially understand the customer’s habit of comparing prices. Price is certainly important, we all like things that are good and cheap, there is nothing wrong with that, but the comparison of prices can only be based on the comparison of the value of things in all aspects are equal, then it has comparability.
We can’t just jump to conclusions by only comparing prices without knowing the details. There are so many products out there and it’s hard to know what’s good and what’s not, so you gotta be careful with your choices. If the price is too low, it might mean that they cut corners on quality or used cheaper materials.
I hope this text can give more strength to the manufacturers who survive by quality and service, let’s work hard together!
Better to have one person use it a thousand times, than have a thousand people use it once
